Natural wet cat food in bulk?
We currently feed our kitten B.F.F. canned cat food, and Orijen dry food (sparingly, mostly as a snack).
We pay per case of 12 and each can is 3 oz. So it works out to 83 cents a can, or 27 cents an ounce. It has 12% crude protein.
We want to start buying his food in bulk, because that case only lasts him about 4 days.
We are looking for a natural, grain free, high protein count, canned food for him in BULK. I have been looking, without much success, so I was wondering if maybe some more experience cat owners have a brand or a website they can recommend. Thank you!
(We’ve considered making his own food, but a few recipes I looked at says it can only be stored for 3 days, and I’m not sure if we’d have the time to make it every 3 days…)
Any advice/brands/websites/tips? Much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We don’t want to feed our cat more dry food.. it is not good for a cat’s diet for multiple reasons. We are looking for raw/canned food.
Canned food-wise we’ve also fed him Tiki Cat and California Natural. He really loves Tiki Cat and B.F.F.
Would raw food be less expensive? We also don’t have a lot of freezer storage space.. but we’re willing to make sacrifices for the well being of our little cat ![]()
Wysong Natural dog food…… are they good for my dogs?
I am thinking about ordering Wysong Au Jus canned food
http://www.wysong.net/products/aujus-natural-healthy-dog-cat-ferret-food.php
They are kinda expensive at .50 a can but are they worth the cost? Oh and I can also get 20% off with a coupon.
So should I order them?????
Holistic, All-Natural Cat Food Recommendations?
I need to change my cat’s food. I’ve just recently discovered that the food he’s been eating, Science Diet, is probably more harmful than helpful. It’s comforting to know that is what my vet sells in his office…
Does anyone have any all-natural/holistic pet food recommendations? It needs to be a dry food, because he’s used to that, and changing him to canned would not go over well — he’s very picky. I wanted to start him on Halo, but since it’s relatively new, most stores around here only carry canned food. I will wait until they get the dry food in, but just in case — does anyone have any recommendations on a brand that is similar?
Thanks for any shared knowledge. ![]()
UPDATE: I found Halo in Dry Form — it’s been two days and he won’t touch it. I mix less than half of Halo along with his old food. My cat is notorious for being stubborn and picky — I switch back to his old food just so he will eat something — will he ever give this new food a try?
We want to feed out Cat natural Cat food….?
Hello,
We have a Cat who has been eating Purina food. Since the time when we obtained him young. The thing is the brand in our view seems to be the best in the artificial world and earned most trust not to destroy our loved pet. That is Purina is a good Company and trusted by us the Most. Yet remains still a problem like most they add Corn and By Products such as meal, Chicken Beef fish etc. Coloring. Our Cat has developed "Red Ears" and scratches we are almost sure it is the food allergy. He was on drops the Vet gave. But he has been scratching and scratching. That Dry pieces of blood land on bed, Couch sofas etc. He is suffering needless and We don’t know how to make our own balanced diet. Nor would it be easy to do so.
SO: What is a reputable online store with "Evidence" that it will not Poison our Cat? That it is legitimate natural cat food that has been in Business for more than just a few years.
BTW: We tried all four varieties of Purina dry food it all is nearly identical. He can’t eat Canned food as it makes him throw up because it is more harder on his system. He needs alternative food and all the local Pet Shops, Groceries and large food stores for humans and Animals sell couple of brands. All which are almost as hard on him as the next. We would have switched to Human food but vital eyesight etc Vitamins would be missing. Not to mention it would not be balanced. So we are on Purina, but he is in distress from all the Allergy.
Again we assume and it is not a fact but we noticed after eating it gets worse. He shakes his head, he does not have Mites.
Tacit Knowledge, don’t worry i’m not trying to discredit Purina. But my Cat might have problems with the food because of the allergies.
Not everyone was born to be a writter or ("English") or may have other personal issues. If you have nothing constructive to add please leave right now.
I like all the three answers and as a result. It makes it difficult to pick a best one. Because each contains helpful information. I would love to give you three Ten points each. The food mentioned here and already made a choice is offered in select stores here.
After some thinking I’m going to let the Community pick the best in a Democratic way.
What about Natural Balance cat food? Is it decent?
With the contaminated wheat gluten, rice gluten and now corn gluten, I really need a brand I can get from the store, since I need to be able to pick it up this afternoon on my way home…my cats’ dry food at home has corn gluten, and the canned food has rice gluten! My babies are fine, but I want to avoid any problems. I was reading the ingredients for Natural Balance and neither their wet nor dry foods have any of these ingredients. Any thoughts on this brand? Is it good? How has it worked for you?
