Grain free, Fish and fish meal free natural cat food with at least 35% protein??
First three ingridents meat derived. I cannot find one. Do you know of one? It has to be all natural with no preservatives or artificial flavors or coloring. Thank you
Fish oil is OK but no fish or fish meal
Its for a ferret who are carnivores and don’t benifit from rice and their cousins would not eat fish in the wild. I would prefer a dry food since they need food out 24 hours a day and you can only leave wet out for about 5 hours.
In the future I hope to go with a completely raw diet. Cooking kills valuable nutrients.
does the fish not make their poop smell? I feed the ferret store original formula right now and their poop doesn’t smell at all. In fact even being in the same room as them you can’t tell I have 3 ferrets.
When i first got into natural things I had my first 2 on wellness kitten health but was alarmed when i found out even a small ammount of fruit or veigitables can cause a blockage and switched and even gave away a whole 12 pound bag because of it.
Natural wet cat food in bulk?
We currently feed our kitten B.F.F. canned cat food, and Orijen dry food (sparingly, mostly as a snack).
We pay per case of 12 and each can is 3 oz. So it works out to 83 cents a can, or 27 cents an ounce. It has 12% crude protein.
We want to start buying his food in bulk, because that case only lasts him about 4 days.
We are looking for a natural, grain free, high protein count, canned food for him in BULK. I have been looking, without much success, so I was wondering if maybe some more experience cat owners have a brand or a website they can recommend. Thank you!
(We’ve considered making his own food, but a few recipes I looked at says it can only be stored for 3 days, and I’m not sure if we’d have the time to make it every 3 days…)
Any advice/brands/websites/tips? Much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We don’t want to feed our cat more dry food.. it is not good for a cat’s diet for multiple reasons. We are looking for raw/canned food.
Canned food-wise we’ve also fed him Tiki Cat and California Natural. He really loves Tiki Cat and B.F.F.
Would raw food be less expensive? We also don’t have a lot of freezer storage space.. but we’re willing to make sacrifices for the well being of our little cat ![]()
Regular supermarket cat food vs all natural cat food. I think I might be wasting my money… help?
My cats are currently eating Weruva and Merricks cat food. They only eat wet food and due to crystals in the bladder, my vet advised to no longer feed dry food. In the next few months, I will be going through a move and job change that will change my financial status and buying Weruva and Merricks may no longer be possible financially. 3 of my 4 cats love Friskies, I bought some to try it out and they love it, my one cat does not but maybe with time she will.
The question is… is there really a huge difference in their health/life span between all natural and regular cat food? My vet told me that as long as it’s AAFCO approved then it’s fine. I though still fed them Weruva and Merricks. Do you feed your cats Friskies or 9Lives or a common commercial cat foods? My friends have cats who have lived close to 20 years with no health problems and they ate regular cat food that was picked up at the supermarket. I’m wondering if I’m doing a bad thing switching their all natural cat food to the more affordable commerical cat food?
CANADIAN DOG LOVERS- Did NATURAL BALANCE DOG FOOD REALLY GET RECALLED OVER THERE?
Somebody told me that (AUSTRALIAN-MADE) NATURAL BALANCE dog food was recalled there. Is this true?

Holistic, All-Natural Cat Food Recommendations?
I need to change my cat’s food. I’ve just recently discovered that the food he’s been eating, Science Diet, is probably more harmful than helpful. It’s comforting to know that is what my vet sells in his office…
Does anyone have any all-natural/holistic pet food recommendations? It needs to be a dry food, because he’s used to that, and changing him to canned would not go over well — he’s very picky. I wanted to start him on Halo, but since it’s relatively new, most stores around here only carry canned food. I will wait until they get the dry food in, but just in case — does anyone have any recommendations on a brand that is similar?
Thanks for any shared knowledge. ![]()
UPDATE: I found Halo in Dry Form — it’s been two days and he won’t touch it. I mix less than half of Halo along with his old food. My cat is notorious for being stubborn and picky — I switch back to his old food just so he will eat something — will he ever give this new food a try?
