Q&A: Two of our cats have managed to lick the anti-flea spot treatment. How toxic is it?

Question by lisawithcats: Two of our cats have managed to lick the anti-flea spot remedy. How poisonous is it?
They ended up struggling, so it was hard to get it in specifically the correct area. I’ll contact the vet tomorrow, but meanwhile, does any person know just how toxic it is? (We rarely use the spot treatment options. Most months we deal with with organic treatments as a deterrent, but we have so a lot of cats that when we see fleas we need to consider action immediately.)

it would be useful to know what type of flea treatment method you used. was it an otc or one you got from the vet? how considerably did they lick?

you could contact either an emergency vet in your area or animal poison handle.
